Del Mar Fairgrounds Opens For Large Animal Evacuations

If residents affected by the Lilac Fire need a place to take large animals, the Del Mar Fairgrounds are now open. Trailers and trucks can stage on Jimmy Durante Boulevard and will be routed into the East Stable gate.

Impacted residents should gather up pets and load livestock into trailers if you have them. When you leave with one load of animals, you might not be allowed back in to get more animals. If you need help rescuing livestock or pets, call Animal Service?s 24 hour emergency dispatch at (619) 236-2341. The department can dispatch an officer to attempt to rescue your animals.
