Bernardo Fire Prompts Thousands of Evacuations

More than 20,000 contacts were made via landlines and cellphones, emails, and texts notifying people to evacuate due to the Bernardo Fire in North County. Most areas being evacuated are in the City of San Diego, with a small portion in unincorporated San Diego County. The evacuation area can be viewed on the Emergency Map. The fire has grown to more than 400 acres.

An evacuation point is available at Torrey Pines High School, 3710 Del Mar Heights Rd., San Diego, CA 92130.

The City of San Diego is the lead agency handling the incident. The City?s Emergency Operations Center has been activated and the County of San Diego?s Emergency Operations Center has also been activated in support of the incident.
