New San Marcos Evacuations

The San Diego County Sheriff?s Department has issued roughly 600 new mandatory evacuation notifications in the Elfin Forest, Indian Ridge Road, Crestwind Road, Wilgen Drive and Bresa De Loma Drive areas in San Marcos.

Evacuation notifications can include businesses, homes and cell phones. Residents in these areas should evacuate because these neighborhoods are currently threatened by fire. Sheriff?s officials said a safe exit route would be to travel eastbound on Harmony Grove Drive.

Evacuation shelters have been set up at Mission Hills High School, located at 1 Mission Hills Court, and at San Marcos Middle School, located at 650 West Mission Road.

People who need emergency assistance to evacuate should call 9-1-1.
